The hallmark of Rolfing® SI — a standardized progression that systematically balances the structure and movement of the entire body.
The hallmark of Rolfing Structural Integration is a standardized “recipe” known as the Ten-Series, the goal of which is to systematically balance and optimize both the structure (shape) and function (movement) of the entire body over the course of ten Rolfing sessions.
Each session focuses on freeing restrictions trapped in a particular region of the body. A practitioner also maintains a holistic view of the client’s entire system during each session, ensuring the transformational process evolves in a comfortable and harmonious way.
SESSIONS 1–3
Loosen and balance the surface layers of connective tissue. Session 1 enhances the quality of breath, working the arms, ribcage and diaphragm. Session 2 gives the body a stable foundation through the feet and lower legs. Session 3 takes a side view, relating head, shoulders and hips under gravity.
SESSIONS 4–7
Examine the terrain between the bottom of the pelvis and the top of the head — including the deep tissue of the legs for its role in support. The work moves from the inside arch of the foot up through the pelvis, the abdomen and back, and finally the head and neck.
SESSIONS 8–10
The final sessions weave the structural changes together, integrating the whole body into balanced, efficient movement so the gains hold and become your new normal.
