Rolfing® Structural Integration · Sonoma County

Stand taller. Move easier. Hurt less.

Rolfing realigns your body’s connective tissue so chronic pain, stiff posture, and old injuries stop running the show. Hands-on work with Carole LaRochelle, Certified Advanced Rolfer™ — practicing in Santa Rosa since 1996.

What is Rolfing?

Not massage. A re-organization of how your body holds itself.

Rolfing works with fascia — the connective tissue that wraps every muscle and joint. When fascia tightens from injury, stress, or habit, your whole structure compensates. Rolfing releases those patterns so your body lines up with gravity instead of fighting it.
1

We look at the whole body

Pain in your neck often starts at your feet. Each session begins by reading how your entire structure stands and moves — not just where it hurts.
2

Hands-on fascial work

Slow, deliberate pressure releases restrictions in the connective tissue. Firm, but worked at your pace — modern Rolfing is not the “painful” work of old reputations.
3

Lasting change, not a tune-up

Because the work changes structure rather than just relaxing muscles, results hold. Clients report better posture, easier movement, and relief that lasts years.
The Ten-Series

A proven sequence of ten sessions

The classic Rolfing program works through the body systematically, each session building on the last. Single sessions and shorter plans are also available — we’ll decide together in your first visit.

Sessions 1–3 — free the surface layers: breath, shoulders, feet

Sessions 4–7 — work the core: pelvis, spine, head and neck

Sessions 8–10 — integrate everything into balanced movement

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Modern Rolfing is firm but worked at your pace. You’re in control the entire session — sensation should feel productive, never punishing. Most clients describe it as “intense in a good way.”

Massage relaxes muscles; Rolfing reorganizes structure. We work with the fascia that determines how your whole body is aligned, which is why changes tend to last well beyond the table.

No. The Ten-Series is the classic format, but single sessions and shorter plans are common. A free 30-minute phone consultation is the easiest way to figure out what fits.

Most clients work in underwear or gym shorts and a sports bra/tank — whatever lets you move and lets Carole see your structure while keeping you comfortable.
